“Harrisburg mayor, treasurer disagree, argue over city’s method of collecting delinquent trash fees.”, WGAL

Harrisburg loses over $1M in uncollected trash fees every year and nothing is being done to collect the outstanding $13.4M in past due fees. Dan has a plan to include these in the billing for annual property taxes. Most of the unpaid fees are landlords and businesses who have realized that there are no consequences to not paying. Dan’s proposal includes a 2% discount for early payment and payment plans, or other other considerations, for low income residents. Imagine what the city could do with an extra $15M!
